Guillaume le Conquérant (William the Conqueror), born in Falaise around 1027 and died in Rouen on September 9, 1087, is Duke of Normandy in 1035 and King of England in 1066. He is one of the most powerful monarchs of Western Europe at the time.
The Norman knights of that time, great navigators and great conquerors created trade routes all around Europe.
